Maker portfolio
A statement over slow night-sky footage, then one thin full-bleed band per series, sliding in from alternate sides and coming up in colour as you hover.
For artists, makers and studios who want the work to arrive in bands rather than a grid.
The home page opens on a one-line statement with a phrase set in gold, over footage of a night sky that drifts at a fifth of scroll speed and pauses itself once it leaves the screen. Phones and metered connections get the poster still and download nothing. Below it, one thin full-bleed band per featured series, each sliding in from the left or the right as it arrives, grey until you hover and then in colour; on a phone the colour comes up as the band passes the middle of the screen. Every series also gets its own page with every piece at full size and a statement.
Warm paper by day, deep navy at night, one gold accent, three typefaces. This is the home page this site itself ran for its first six weeks, before it became a template showcase.
Four edits and a folder of JPEGs per series. A series can name a wide banner for its band, or its first image is used. Image sizes are read at build time, never typed in.

The September 2026 design of southofordinary.dev, cut as a template that month and kept when the art portfolio was restyled in October.
