Art portfolio
A full-screen portrait, a sideways run of your best series, and a page for every body of work.
For painters, printmakers, photographers and anyone whose work is pictures.
The home page opens on a photo of you with your name set huge in the corner, then scrolls sideways through one full-screen slide per featured series, then lands on a two-column grid of everything. Each series gets its own page: a column that stays put with the title and statement, and every piece in two columns beside it.
The look is white rooms, heavy condensed black type and one loud colour for the signature and links. The pictures carry the colour; the page stays out of their way.
It was built for a friend who paints and wanted a site he could change himself from a terminal, with an AI agent doing the typing. So the whole thing is five edits and a folder of JPEGs.
01 / In the box
What you get
- Home, series, about and contact pages
- Pinned horizontal strip on desktop, a swipe row on phones, both respecting reduced motion
- Markdown content with a validated schema and a pre-build checker
- Sitemap, robots, JSON-LD for the artist and each series
- Three sample series with generated placeholder images so it looks like something on day one
02 / Make it yours
5 edits
- 01Your name, email and links in one file
- 02One portrait photo
- 03A folder of JPEGs per series
- 04A Markdown file per series: title, year, medium, two sentences, the image list
- 05Your story in the about file
Or hand the repo to your agent with the sentence “make this my site” and the answers to those 5 questions. The AGENTS.md does the rest.
Where it comes from
First built as a gift for a painter in September 2026, restyled in October. The design system started life on this site.
Questions before you commit go to info@southofordinary.dev. Answers come in writing.

Maker portfolio
A statement over slow night-sky footage, then one thin full-bleed band per series, sliding in from alternate sides and coming up in colour as you hover.
Artists, makers and studios who want the work to arrive in bands rather than a grid.

Facts magazine
A sourced, searchable collection of short answers, built to be quoted by people and by assistants.
Anyone publishing a catalogue of short, checkable entries: facts, glossary terms, FAQs, field notes, product know-how.
